What Matters Most edition by Dianne Maguire Literature Fiction eBooks

Confronting, amusing and compelling, this is a story about choices and how they shape who we become.
There is good love and bad love. Good sex and bad sex. And sometimes it's hard to know the difference.
Paediatrician and mother Mia Sandhurst is scraping to keep her marriage together after her husband of 25 years breaks her heart. Finally facing reality, Mia embarks on a series of outlandish new behaviours to make startling discoveries about herself, love and life.
But the lies and betrayal Mia endures are nothing compared to those of her 15 year old patient, Rachel Hooper.
Set on the magical coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, WHAT MATTERS MOST is a story of love, family, misplaced loyalty and how our choices shape who we are.

Recommended to those who would like an ending to a book that leaves you content. What Matters Most, this was perfectly titled. A very heartfelt story. Riding alongside as they all experience the triumph and tragedy of a small community rallying around a family. The storyline was quick to pick up. The character's so well described, it was easy to remember each of them. Having gone thru a similar experience in our family, it was heartwarming to feel the genuine caring that was shown to each other. Recommended to those who would like an ending to a book that leaves you content. What Matters Most, this was perfectly titled. Thank you to the author for taking a hard subject and giving it a place to grow.Product details

What Matters Most edition by Dianne Maguire Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Book started a little slow with a lot of people. After I got into the storyline of this family with a 15 year odd daughter who trying to commit suicide. This storyline continued with the group of people whose lives change. Great story! Really enjoyed and would recommend to my friends
I had a hard time putting this novel down. Curiosity and the need to know what happens next kept me reading for hours at a time. The Australian lingo made me research and learn new vocabulary, always a plus for an avid reader. Truly a heartfelt, informative look into the interweaving of lives.
I didn't think the story was that good. It skipped around a lot and the main character was not that well developed. The background story was not that well explained and the outcome developed. I had a hard time getting through to the end.
I loved this book "What Matters Most" I felt I knew every character and was part of their journey. I didn't want to put the book down till I knew that each character was recovering and on a new life path. The subject matter was heartbreaking but so true for many families and every aspect clearly and empathetically written by the author. The joy of the book showing with resilience and support tragedies like these can be transcended. For those of us who have little understanding of this it was so well articulated. I look forward to Diane's next book even though her characters from"what Matters Most still linger life like in my mind.
This family drama has it all; tragedy and triumph, humour and heartbreak. An evocative, powerful must-read page-turner. A brilliant debut.
What Matters Most is an easy read which covers several not so easy topics. The characters are likeable and though some matters are perhaps resolved too happily, others are left uncertain. I enjoyed learning a bit more about the area near Adelaide, Australia and learned several new Aussie words as well.
I enjoyed this book, with it's plot twists and well developed characters. I had a bit of trouble with the way the book skipped from one character to another, but it held my interest to the end. Loved the happy ending with the dog, and I could personally relate to the development of the incest/sexual abuse of Rachel...this happened in my extended family, and to this day I don't think the perpetrator feels he did anything wrong. The psychology of it is horrifying and yet fascinating. I will be looking for more from Dianne Maguire.
