My name is Penelope. So before I get started, let's all agree it's kinda weird for me to be writing the summary for a book that is basically all about me. I mean, it makes sense because who knows more about me than, you know, me but still, kinda weird. Anyway, when you're the center of attention in the book and someone asks you for a favor about said book, what can you really say? So here's the deal. I'm fifteen and my parents just relocated me from Illinois to Southwest Florida. Sounds pretty great right? It is. I'm not gonna lie. But it's not perfect. It's summer so no school -- awesome -- but also no way to meet kids my age. Oh, and we live in a gated community that isn't officially a retirement community, except that it really is. You guessed it, no kids my age. In fact, in St. Georges, my parents might qualify as "kids." It was shaping up to be a pretty dismal summer break; that is until one of the locals literally dropped dead under suspicious circumstances right there at the St. Georges Yacht Club. After that, things got really interesting, like the kind of interesting stuff my dad puts in his spy books. Oh yeah, he's a writer. Mom's a lawyer. The point is, when school starts again I'm going to have a killer "what I did this summer essay." It will be epic. Trust me. But you won't get to read that. Instead, you can read this book and find out what happened when my new friend slash fake grandpa Bags and I started investigating the mystery of what really happened to our friend. Here's a hint. It was no accident.
